I believe that one key to successful writing is to ensure that you stay on the topic on which you are writing about. While making reference to past experiences or opinions can make for a strong paper, drifting from the idea of the paper can lose the reader. Although it can be hard to stay on topic, picking something which you have many facts on and enjoy writing about can ensure a good paper. I like to think that I am a good write but also have much room for improvement.
Another tip for successful writing is to make sure to keep the interest of the reader and add phrases to show the reader what you are feeling. I believe this is extremely important to show the character what exactly was happening in every detail when explaining a situation. Make the reader feel as if they were there when the situation was happening and you will be sure to capture their attention.
Lastly, when preparing to write a paper, it is always best to have your thoughts planned out. Although it may seem elementary, making a diagram or charting out your ideas can be the best way to ensure perfect organization throughout your paper. By planning the order you wish to introduce topics and ideas you can influence the readers outlook on the topic and promise a smooth transition from thoughts. Organization, although sometimes overlooked can play an important key in achieving a structured paper and possibly a good grade.
While I try my best to turn in a perfect paper every time, I often receive it back with many suggestions. I believe that I am a strong creative writer and can make the reader feel as if they actually saw what I am explaining. This is a good strength to have because it allows you to successfully keep the readers attention. On the other hand, I would like to improve in word variety. I often revert to using the same word or words throughout a paper without much variation. After proofreading and trying to eliminate many duplicated words, I correct my weakness but wish it came first nature.
